Conversations with a teenager

We were watching the bachelor last night....I know high level education.

and during a commercial we had a conversation with Alex.

Well, really Alex had a comment, that led to a conversation.

Alex:  You know guys, I look at your realtionship.

D&N:  Oh really!!!

Alex:  Yeah.  Ya know when you do that thing....

D&N:  Oh this!  (And we lean over and kiss each other lots of times.)

Alex:  Yeah! Yeah!  You can quit it now!!!

D&N:  Does it bother you that we kiss?

Alex:  Noooo.  It actually makes me feel happy, like everything is alright.

D&N:  (with eyebrows raised in shock)  We didn't know you paid that much attention to us.  What else have you noticed about our relationship?

Alex:  Sometimes you argue?

D&N:  How does it make you feel when we argue.

Alex:  I feel fine, because you don't yell and scream at each other, and I can see that you are working out your differences.  So I don't worry to much about it.

D&N:  Oh my goodness, Dave, I think we are setting a good example for the boy (Both of us smiling at him).  So Alex, what qualities do you admire in the both of us.

Alex:  Mom, I admire your strength.  You are not afraid of breaking up a fight at my school or anything and I admire how much you love people....Dad, she's not shy at all!!!

David:  Alex you'd be surprised.

Alex:  Dad, I admire your hardwork and how you support me.

D&N:  Wow!

This is great evidence that our children are watching. 

They see how we treat each other.

How we feel our stress and concerns.

We are their best example of what is right and good.
